I am running a Montessori enrichment centre in Orchard road, Singapore. For years, I observed that children are all progressing at different pace. Some learn things faster whereas some face challenges in specific areas. I have always wonder whether there is an effective program to identify, and address these challenges faced by different children in the preschool years. This began my search for an effective training program to help the children. I came into contact with SOI program 2 years ago.
SOI identifies specific areas the student is weak in. Cognitive weakness is very often the root cause of student’s learning difficulties. I observed that after going through the SOI training, the students tend to be more expressive and confident in their problem-solving skills.
SOI differs from some brain training school in that it emphasizes on the transferable skills and train the student according to their specific needs. I like the SOI way of assessing the student, then followed by targeted intensive mental exercises to produce maximum results. I experience this in the case of one student who seemed to lack focus and confidence initially. However, after going through the SOI program, her parent started to observe a visible change in her. She is now more confident, expressive and focus.
I would recommend SOI program to children. The key reason is that it is customized to address individual student needs. Its training equips the student to succeed, not only academically, but also for life.
